The following changes will be implemented in all running and future events, effective immediately. Most of them are a result of feedback and a few are being changed to make it easier to host and participate in our events.

GENERAL (ARTICLES 1 – 17)

Article 2.3 has been rewritten to clarify that drivers need to be on TeamSpeak when they are connected to the server instead of just when they are on track.

Article 2.3.2

Participants are required to be in their Entry’s TeamSpeak channel and able to hear the Race Director’s instructions clearly while they are connected to the server.

Article 3.9 has been rewritten to clarify that drivers need to contact Race Control if they need to rejoin during a Qualifying session. Race Control will pick the best moment for them to rejoin, e.g. a prototype that disconnects during GT qualifying will be asked to wait until the transition period before they can reconnect.

Article 3.9.1

It is permitted to rejoin Practice and Race sessions after a connection loss. Rejoining during Qualifying needs to be requested and will be coordinated by Race Control.

Article 6.6 about flashing headlights has been rewritten to clarify what is deemed to be “excessive flashing”.

Article 6.6.2

Flashing is deemed to be excessive when:
– You don’t intend to or are not able to overtake the car ahead before or through the next corner
– You are about to perform an easy overtake on a straight or easy corner
– You use more than 2 consecutive flash sequences (max. 5 flashes in max. 2 seconds is deemed 1 sequence)

GLOBAL ENDURANCE SERIES 22/23 (ARTICLES 18 – 28)

Article 19 has been adjusted, reducing the length of all Free Practice sessions to 30 minutes. Because of the length of the track, Le Mans will still have 1-hour long Free Practice sessions.

Article 19.8

All timetables of the remaining races – with the exception of Le Mans – have been adjusted, reducing the Free Practice sessions to 30 minutes and changing the times of the Drivers Briefings accordingly.

Article 22 has been adjusted to simplify the rules and requirements regarding the team lineups.

Article 22.1.3 (removed)

It’s no longer required for all entered drivers to participate in at least 1 round, because it cannot be reasonably enforced.

Article 22.2 (removed)

The requirement to retain 1 driver from the previous race has been removed.
The numbering of Articles 22.3 to 22.10 has been moved up to 22.2 to 22.9 respectively.

Article 22.5 (previously 22.6)

It is no longer required to specify the full race lineup or the Qualifying drivers in the RSVP. The starting driver still needs to be specified because knowing them beforehand allows us to quickly set the grid at the start of Warmup, so we can continue with our other tasks.

GLOBAL ENDURANCE ACADEMY 22/23 (ARTICLES 29 – 40)

Article 30 has been adjusted, reducing the length of all Free Practice sessions to 30 minutes.

Article 30.5

All timetables of the remaining races have been adjusted, reducing the Free Practice sessions to 30 minutes and changing the times of the Drivers Briefings accordingly.

Article 33 has been adjusted to simplify the rules and requirements regarding the team lineups.

Article 33.3 (removed)

It’s no longer required for all entered drivers to participate in at least 1 round, because it cannot be reasonably enforced.

Article 33.4 (removed)

The requirement to retain 1 driver from the previous race has been removed.

Article 33.6 (previously 33.8)

It is no longer required to specify the full race lineup in the RSVP. The Qualifying/starting driver still needs to be specified because this enables us to quickly set the grid at the start of Warmup, so we can continue with our other tasks.

PREPARATION REQUIREMENTS

One of the regulations we’ve received feedback on are the preparation requirements. While there’s some criticism about it, the majority of the feedback has been positive, because it serves as a fail safe to ensure everyone on track has done at least a certain amount of preparation and can lap the track in reasonably competitive time. Therefore, we have opted not to adjust these regulations mid-season.
